Privacy policy

Draft for the owner to review. Anything marked [CHECK] needs your attention before launch. Have this read by someone who knows Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Delete this box when you're done.

The short version

EasyMovie helps you compare cinema showtimes. You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name, email, phone number or payment details. You buy tickets on the cinema's own website, not on EasyMovie.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. Version 1 of EasyMovie has no sign-up, no forms and no payments.

Your location

If you tap Use my location, your phone or browser asks your permission first. Your location is used only inside your browser to sort cinemas by distance. It is not sent to us, not saved, and forgotten when you close the page. You can always pick an area from the list instead.

What your browser remembers

To save you a few taps next time, your browser stores the area you picked and the cinema chain filter you used. This stays on your device. You can remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Cookies

EasyMovie doesn't set cookies. [CHECK: update this section if you add analytics, ads or a sign-in later.]

Services we use

• Cloudflare hosts the website. Like any web host, it handles basic technical details such as your IP address to deliver the pages and keep the site safe. [CHECK: confirm against Cloudflare's current privacy policy.]
• Google Fonts provides the lettering. Your browser downloads the font from Google, which can see your IP address. [CHECK: or host the font file yourself to avoid this.]
• Cinema websites. When you tap Continue to GSC website or Continue to TGV website, you leave EasyMovie. That cinema's own privacy policy applies to anything you do there, including buying tickets.

Children

EasyMovie doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Some movies are rated 18 under Malaysia's film classification; the cinema checks age when you buy and enter.

Changes to this policy

If we change how EasyMovie handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
